Description
A six-station hydraulic vulcanizing press for curing and pressing rubber outsoles used in safety footwear and work boots. Its steel-plate frame is stress relieved for stability, and the closed-path hydraulic circuit has no oil seals to wear or leak. It supports single-colour or double-colour sole set-ups with a 24-hour heating programme and an LCD display. The press delivers 200 tons of pressing force from a 15 kW drive at 380 V.

Sole weight holds within a tight spread, and the counter tracks shots accurately. Our accountant uses those numbers for costing each style.

We upgraded from an older carousel machine. Output per hour is better and the finish on the soles is cleaner. The touch panel is simple, though some alarm texts are vague and needed explaining by support. Shipping was a little slow, but the crates were in excellent condition, and the rigging team had no trouble placing the unit.

Compared with the semi automatic unit we had, waste of raw material dropped noticeably. The dosing is precise, and purge volumes are small.

Small factory, one machine. We make steel toe boots for the local market and the machine handles both PU and light rubber compounds with minor changes.

Sole quality on safety shoes with a slip resistant pattern is very sharp. Fine tread details fill completely, so we no longer rework them.

After installing a second set of moulds, we can switch between two sole designs during one shift. That flexibility helped us with a rush order from a rail contractor.

Our customers in mining audit our soles for abrasion resistance. Batches since installation have passed every test, and sole density is uniform. Since we started using this machine we also won a tender that specified traceable sole density records, and the shot counter helped us with the paperwork.
