Description
The James Heal Martindale is the reference instrument for assessing abrasion resistance and pilling of textiles, leather and coated fabrics used in protective clothing and gloves. The 9-station model is the best-selling version and allows several specimens to be run in one session. A touch-screen interface with preset routines keeps operator effort low, and each head can be controlled for flexible laboratory scheduling. It supports the abrasion routines referenced by EN 388 for protective gloves.

The impact rig performs as needed and our results are stable. Commissioning took two days rather than the one quoted, and the manual could be organised better, but the technician was friendly and stayed until every test we needed had run correctly.
Arjun P. –
Training took two hours and the manual was clear enough for our new lab assistant to run a full series alone the next morning. Reports are easy to read.
Sergio B. –
Easy to operate once trained. I would have liked longer initial training for our second shift, which the supplier later offered as a remote session. Repeatability of tests is good and grips are solid.
Halina M. –
Good results and a very tidy design. The only reason I give four stars is that the lead time was longer than quoted, around twelve weeks, and we had to postpone a customer project. The machine itself is dependable.
