Description
Continuous PLC-controlled dipping line for knitted work gloves with latex (wrinkle, foam, smooth), nitrile, PU or PVC coating. One line includes the liner drying system, coagulant tank, latex or nitrile dipping tank, vibration and level control, pre-vulcanization and main drying zones, and a stripping zone with heating ovens (heated by thermal oil, steam or gas). It runs 10 or 13 gauge cotton or polyester liners on aluminium hand formers for palm or three-quarter dipping, and length from 20 m to 50 m can be customised.

We had teething issues with the stripping unit that took a few visits to fix. Everything is stable now. I would suggest asking for a longer commissioning window. I had to ask once for the wiring diagram, and it arrived within an hour together with an apology for the omission.

Line speed is adjustable in small steps and the oven keeps up. We tested faster settings during the trial and coating still cured fully. On the other hand, the oven takes about forty minutes to stabilise in the morning, which we now factor into shift start times. ClearEdge kept us informed on the freight from the moment the crate left the factory until it reached our loading dock.

Small changes in line speed no longer ruin the coating weight. We run at a steady pace all shift and pick up only a few rejects per thousand pairs. The manual could give clearer starting values for viscosity, and we lost a few days working those out before the results settled.

Cleaning the formers between colour changes is easier than expected. Overhead access and drip trays keep the floor from turning into a mess. Cleaning solvent consumption is higher than we estimated, which adds to running cost, though the results justify it.

Coating results are acceptable and the oven is well made. Where we struggled was commissioning. The electrical cabinet needed rewiring to match our local supply, which was not clear from the documents, and it cost us four days and an electrician. After that the line ran properly. I would advise other buyers to confirm voltage and phase details in writing before shipping.

The coating repeatability is what we bought it for, and it delivers. Spare filter cartridges for the fume extraction are pricey, though, and we now order in bulk. What I liked most was a single contact person who knew our order from quote to delivery.

Good coating quality but noisy near the oven exhaust. We fitted a silencer at our own cost. Also, spare formers are expensive, so budget for those.

It produces good gloves but I expected lower compound consumption. We use more than the seller suggested in the early weeks, then it improved after we changed the pump speed and filter size. Support was helpful in the end, though it took several emails. The line is solid, and our operators like the layout of the stripping area.

Reasonable line for the money. Formers we ordered as extras arrived later than the main machine, so first weeks ran at reduced capacity. Support was polite but slow to give dates. Training was planned for two days but we needed a third, and they arranged a short remote session without fuss.
