Description
The ENGEL victory 220 is a tie-bar-less hydraulic injection moulding machine with 2,200 kN (240 US tons) clamping force. The tie-bar-less clamping unit gives free access to the mould and allows larger moulds on a smaller clamping force, which suits hard hat shells, visors and face shields. Fitted with the ecodrive servo-hydraulic system for energy savings and a compact injection unit with a 60 mm screw shown on the reference machine. The clean, open mould area also simplifies robot removal and insert loading.

Hot runner temperature control is precise, so we have hardly any gate blemishes. Our finishing department has less sanding to do.

Manuals from ClearEdge came in English and were detailed enough that our operators could follow the setup steps without calling anyone. Our shell production went from one mould to two on the same press over the year, and the tie bar spacing has handled both nicely.

Good machine, but the control panel menu is deep and it took us weeks to find some settings. Better documentation would help. Once learned, it works fine.

Platen parallelism is excellent. Wall thickness of shells is even around the brim, and we noticed fewer weak spots in drop tests.

The machine took a while to cost justify, but after a year of use I am glad. Our reject rate on shells fell and downtime is very low.

Repeatable quality and steady output. Cooling water connections were different from our standard, so our plumber needed adapters. A small note in the pre-sale information would have helped.
