Description
A 30-station rotary direct-injection line for moulding polyurethane soles straight onto shoe uppers, aimed at safety shoes and boots as well as sports and casual footwear. The carousel layout lets operators load lasts and mould soles continuously, and multi-colour sole set-ups are supported. It runs on 380 V three-phase power with a PLC-based control system and compressed air supply. Output depends on the mould and cycle set-up, typically in the range of several hundred to over a thousand pairs per shift.

Downtime for mould changes and cleaning is now the shortest in our plant. Planning production is easier because we can trust the times.

Reasonable machine for the price, but not without problems. Two of the mould heaters failed in the first six weeks, and although replacements were sent free of charge, we lost production twice. Since then it has run well and sole quality is good. I would like a clearer commissioning checklist to catch weak parts before the machine starts heavy use. A guard bracket came slightly bent from transport, yet a replacement was shipped within days and did not hold up production.

We have run this PU injection machine for nine months on dual density soles. Sole hardness is consistent between the heel and forefoot, and our lab tests confirm it. Second and third moulds were fitted without problems, though we had to shim one of them, which our toolmaker did in an hour. Whenever I sent a technical question to ClearEdge, an engineer replied the same day, usually with a drawing or a short explanation attached.

Everything about the machine feels heavy duty. Doors, hinges, and guards are robust, and eighteen months in nothing has worked loose.

We make rubber soled work boots and the vulcanising side is good. The injection side needed more tuning than the sales talk suggested, and the first two weeks gave us a higher reject rate than we planned. Support was patient and the numbers improved a lot. Anyone buying should expect a settling period and allow for it in the schedule.

After the second month, we stopped calling support because there was nothing to fix. Output is steady and quality checks pass consistently.
