Description
The HSE modulo is an automated double-spindle edger that processes the left and right lens fully independently, on the block or blockless. It performs bevelling, grooving, drilling and polishing on CR39, high-index, polycarbonate and Trivex lenses. Two 4-axis systems with 24 tools and high-frequency milling spindles deliver fast, precise edging, and an integrated shape editor handles complex shapes.

Good machine for an eyewear workshop. Installation was straightforward. Consumables such as polishing pads cost more than I expected, so plan the budget.

We chose this after reading about its accuracy, and it did not disappoint. Lens diameter and bevel position are consistent across long runs. The lead time was about eleven weeks, and I would have liked interim updates. Installation was tidy, and the manual, while dry, is accurate and helped us through the calibration. Our commissioning date was confirmed in writing and kept, and the engineer stayed until the first production run met our specification.

Operators like the edging machine, and our lens rejects at fitting have fallen. Training was thorough on the first day and thinner on the second, so I asked for a follow up session, which they granted. Freight took a bit longer than the forwarder said. Overall a dependable machine for a busy workshop.
