Description
The HSE modulo QS is an automated blockless lens edger with a four-station design that rough cuts and finishes several lenses at once with integrated quality control. It processes CR39, high-index, polycarbonate, Trivex and Tribrid lenses up to 85 mm in diameter. It suits high-volume labs that need consistent edge quality with a minimum B-size of about 22 mm.

Very stable in daily use. It runs eight hours without needing operator input beyond loading trays, so my team can handle inspection in between. Loading trays takes some practice at first, but after a week our team had a rhythm that keeps the machine busy. During installation the ClearEdge engineer answered questions on the phone as we worked, which kept our downtime short.

Spindle noise and vibration are low, and cut quality on high index lenses is smooth. We had chipping at corners with the previous machine, and it is gone.

Thickness of the applied coating is even from centre to edge. Our optical lab told us they see fewer reflections and less colour cast than before.

Blocking machine is precise and quick. Shipping took longer than the forwarder said, by about two weeks. Software is clear but the first setup needed a video call with support.

Detailed packing lists from ClearEdge with weights and dimensions helped us plan crane lifting on arrival at our site. Water cooling and filtration for the edger are well thought out. Slurry stays under control and our cleaning time at the end of the day fell. The filter cartridges are consumables with a fairly short life, and their price adds up over a year.
