Description
The AirPerm M021A measures air permeability of textiles, nonwovens and paper, including dense airbag fabrics and very open forming materials. An automatic ranging system detects the fitted head and selects the right pressure range. Quick-change heads and single-press clamping keep throughput high. An optional face mask head supports EN 14683 assessments, and the cabinet is mounted on wheels with side drawers.

Our abrasion tester runs smoothly and quietly. A small drawback: replacing the specimen holders is fiddly, and the first time took us half an hour. With practice it takes a few minutes.

Technically capable but the software crashed twice in the first month while exporting large data sets. Support released a patch after a couple of weeks and it has been fine since. I would advise buyers to keep the software updated.

The abrasion tester does what we need, but the freight took five weeks longer than the quote and the lab schedule suffered. The manual could be clearer about specimen mounting. Once set up, results have been repeatable.

Lab manager here. The supplier gave us a checklist for accreditation preparation covering equipment records, calibration intervals and operator competence. It was surprisingly practical, and much of our documentation was based on it. I would recommend requesting it when you order, if it is not offered automatically.

Good repeatability on cut tests, with the same fabric giving nearly identical values on different days. Software is stable, though I would like more options for customising the report header. Delivery took about nine weeks.
